Movies & Performing Arts
After Dark
A mixture of active and retired professional musicians from all over the Olympic Peninsula come together to perform as the Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra. World-class guest artists regularly join the local ensemble. Regular concerts are Saturday evenings, however, tickets are also available to “morning-of” dress rehearsals. These less formal performances have become popular with the local families.Part of the Symphony Orchestra performs with the Port Angeles Chamber Orchestra. The group offers three winter performances. Additionally, the area has the 50-member strong Port Angeles Chamber Singers. The Singers perform in Port Angeles and neighboring communities in November and March.
The Port Angeles Community Playhouse present live theatre, cultural and artistic events for the enjoyment and participation of its members and the community. We have been actively contributing to this community for over 50 years. Our annual season presents four three-week shows on Main Stage, and five shorter events on our Second Stage.
Lovers of the silver screen have two film viewing options in the area. The Deer Park Cinemas on the east side of Port Angeles offers five theatres. The downtown, 1920’s-era Lincoln Theatre once held a thousand movie patrons. Renovated in the mid-1980’s, the theatre retained its classic marquee and feel while dividing itself into three smaller theatres.
Dining & Live Music
Before or after the symphony or movie dine at one of Port Angeles’ fine restaurants. You can choose from 4-star to fast-food. Seafood, ethnic, eclectic, steak-house—your visit to Port Angles will be memorable in culinary ways also. Several of the local bars and restaurants offer live bands or karaoke on a regular basis.
